I’ve always been captivated by these birds and would watch them for hours growing up in the Sonoran Desert. For this art piece, I wanted to capture the essence of both animal and place. Beneath a dynamic sky, saguaros stand tall, backdropped by desert mountains. Centrally, a blue roadrunner bird is both at once at home and out of place. A seemingly delicate, yet fierce being in an unforgiving landscape.
